Well I think there are two of them.

Shop n Save has Ken's Dressing on sale for 88 cents....and in this week's coupons there is a $1 off coupon...making 12 cents on that deal! Limit of 4, but I'll just check out twice. Oh, make sure you wait till Thursday $10 off $50!

Ok, second deal! Walgreens has Schick Hydro Razors for 7.99, but you get $5 off your next purchase PLUS if you got the coupon in the paper this week (for $5 off) you will MAKE $2 by buying this!

First Deals

Well, as I am not a professional coupon clipper or deal finder my savings probably are not as good as Jill Cataldo (check out her site: http://www.supercouponing.com/about.html) But here is what I found recently at Shop n Save:

Old El Paso has a Beef/Chicken Catalina coupon deal going on.

What is a Catalina coupon you may ask? It is essentially a gift certificate for the store you are purchasing the items from. It is from the manufacturer. They have a set amount of items or dollar amount (note: the dollar amount is PRE-coupon) you must spend on their products and they, in turn, will give you a Catalina coupon to spend on your next trip.

Old El Paso's deal was "Buy 6 items, receive $3 off of your next Chicken or Beef purchase." This INCLUDED Taco Seasoning (which was on sale for 64 cents!) Also, as I was looking on the shelves I noticed some items had pull off coupons for "Buy any 2 Old El Paso Items, get $1 off of refried beans" Well, lucky me refried beans where on sale for $1! So....I bought 2 taco seasonings for 64 cents each then "bought" a (free) refried bean.....twice.....so in one transaction I have 4 taco seasonings and 2 refried beans = 6 Old El Paso Items to get $3 off of Chicken/Beef!

This is what my receipt looked like:

4 Taco Seasonings - 64 cents each

2 Refried Beans - $1 each

- (2) $1 off Refried Beans Coupons

=$2.56 and I got $3 off my next Beef or Chicken purchase.

So I MADE 44 cents!

I did this 4 times....and I had some awesome food for our Annual Cinco de Mayo party!

I was pretty proud of this deal!

Why am I starting a blog?

I have never blogged before, and the idea that anything I could ever write would help anyone never crossed my mind....until recently. What changed in my life recently you may ask? I began coupon clipping. Now I have always been a fan of saving money, I have always bought food that was on sale, clothes off of the clearance rack, and even complete "free-after-rebate" forms with my mom and grandma, but I never really shopped with coupons. Sure I would grab a coupon off of the shelf if it was for the item I was buying, but I never actively bought the Post-Disgrace to clip coupons.

I am starting this blog to keep track of all of the savings I have come across, and, hopefully, to help someone else stretch their dollar. I am a working mother of one, and my goal is to one day quit my job and become a stay-at-home mother. I hope that by becoming more and more thrifty my husband and I can afford it sooner rather than later.
